The majority of day case surgeries are performed under local or general anaesthetic at the Nuffield hospital, Newcastle.
New procedures such as UROLIFT and SpaceOar implants can be delivered on a day case.
Major procedures such as laparoscopic nephrectomy are performed at the Freeman hospital, Newcastle.
Laser surgery is performed as a day case in the majority of cases and is offered at the Newcastle Nuffield and at The Freeman Hospital.
Holmium and KTP green light lasers are used for Prostate surgery. Thulium laser is a new form of laser surgery being evaluated as part of a national clinical trial.
Holmium laser can also be used for treating renal tract stones and for the removal of certain types of abnormal soft tissue growths.

HOLEP is highly effective treatment for men with Urinary symptoms due to prostatic obstruction.
It has the highest rates of success for men who cannot pass urine and are catheterised.
Most procedures are done as a day case but over night stay can be arranged if required.

Fixed cost packages including surgeon fees are available via the Newcastle Nuffield for selected procedures and at the Freeman hospital via the private patients office.
Failure to cancel appointments with less than 24 hours notice will be charged at £50.
Repeat prescriptions are charged at £20 per prescription.
Urolift is a minimally invasive treatment for men with urinary symptoms caused by obstruction from the prostate.
It has a rapid recovery and minimal long term side effects including maintaining sexual function.
Men can be treated under local anaesthesia or general as needed.
Most men return to normal activity within 48 hours and only a few men require a temporary catheter.
